STAFF & BOARD

After serving on local church staff for 25 years, Larry became the full time Executive Director of First Priority of Greater Decatur in 2014. His hearts passion is to see students come to know Christ and for them to have a personal and thriving relationship with Him. First Priority started in 2009 on 18 campuses and has grown to currently serve 70+ campuses in Morgan, Lawrence, and Cullman counties with the potential of reaching over 37,000 students with the Gospel. The ministry of First Priority Greater Decatur has seen over 6400 students make decisions for Christ (as of 5/24) on these public-school campuses. In 2019, First Priority brought on the ministry of Clothe Our Kids as a ministry of First Priority. Clothe our Kids is closed to the public and work’s directly with our school systems and child advocacy organizations to clothe children in need. Clothe Our Kids recently surpassed our 8000th student clothed through this ministry. (5/24) In 2017, Larry was awarded the Lynn C Fowler Non-Profit Professional of the Year by the Decatur-Morgan Chamber of Commerce. First Priority / Clothe Our Kids has received numerous awards from our community as well including the 2018 and 2019 Non-Profit of the Year (FP and COK), 2018 Decatur City School Foundations Non-Profit of the Year, and the 2023 and 2024 Community Leader of the Year (FP and COK) Larry is married to Jessica and has two daughters Chelsea Joy (husband Kelby) and Hannah Marie and two amazing grandkids Mason Lee and Lynlee Elizabeth Barnes. He enjoys spending time with his grandkids and family, playing golf, and is an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. GO DAWGS!!!
